Is there a way to bypass the a/c?

my a/c locked up and it chewed the hell out of my belt. i tryed to run a shorter belt and bypass the a/c but the belt isnt tight enough. does anyone know of a way to do this without having to replace the whole a/c. or does anyone make a a/c eliminator for an 89 iroc z?? thanks

Do a search here for 'ac delete bracket'. You get about 20 hits with part numbers. Never seen one but have read about them here.

On my '88 serp. belt setup I seen no way of eliminating the ac without the delete bracket or changing everything to something else unless maybe I still have the air pump, which I don't.

Good luck.

Have a new bearing put in the clutch. Should run about 100.00
They will not even have to take the compressor off the car.
