"86. T/A, 305, TPI, Auto, Hypertech Street, Stock. 12* BTDC but had the same problem at 6* BTDC (all using a bolt on timing tab)
NO CODES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Symptoms... At start up, idle-1500. Drops down to 900 after closed loop. Did all the suggested stuff.. IAC adj..TPS adj... No help. Just rebuilt the Throttle body, all OK. Vacum at 18 and rock steady, IAC at proper adj..28mm....450 rpm in drive. Tps adj .545...OK.. Still idles high, 1200 at start up..drops to 900 after closed loop. Adj. the IAC with
spark thingie DISCONNECTED still high...Adj IAC with spark thingie CONNECTED..did better, dropped about 200 rpm.
STILL NO CODES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can idle it down with the idle stop screw but that's not the proper way..."WTF"
Is the advance too high?????????
