Car: 1991 Camaro Z28
Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: Built 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.73
Everything is the same on 305's and 350's with tpi. The plennum, runners, manifold, throttlebody, and everything else is all the same. This is because TPI was made for the 305 and they didnt feel like making seperate injection for the 350 so they just used the same one.
I have read...and heard...many times. However, no one has ever given a definitive source for this. It has just sort of become an Urban Legend.
I doubt the TPI was designed specifically for the Camaro and Firebird, I would think it was a trickle down effect from the Corvette. I have no definitive evidence on any of this, just my own instinct.
I'll do some research this weekend to see what I can come up with.
