I was wondering, does the single inlet SLP CAI give the engine that same growl that an open filter intake does? Also, can you hear it making the 'shhhhhhh' sucking sound? Thanks.

Did it wake your engine up and give it that MEAN growl? Like where after a certain RPM you don't hear exhaust anymore, cause all you can hear is the growl of the engine?

I have only driven the car about 5 miles in the last few months, and I installed it in January.
I had a Lingenfelter CAI on my '96 Z28 along with an SLP exhaust. I could hear the sucking sound when I hit the throttle. I put the stock box on when I traded it in and the exhaust got much quieter.

Mine always made the sucking sound, and with the 58mm TB it has small whine like a blower. I recently trashed my SLP CAI though. I noticed it had cracked where the airbox lid and intake tube meet. I siliconed it, but it didn't last long. I took the airbox out and cut a hole through that panel for a cone filter to mount under the car. I'm running polished stainless tube and welded fittings all the way to the TB.

SWEETNESS.... if only 58MM throttle bodies didn't cost so much =( But I've been reading about Camaro owners having problems with where the box mounts...
