i'm getting ready to replace my tired out 305 with a 350, but all the yards around here want more $$ for the TPI models out of camaros and vettes. my question is what else did a suitable 4 bolt main 350 come in besides f bodies and vettes. i already have the injection system, so i want to get a TBI and rebuild it and swap it to TPI. i know GM put 350s in trucks, caprices, and so on, but which had 4 bolt mains and would work with my injection? thanx

4 bolt mains weren't in F-bodies, unless some sneaked through. No clue on the Vette's.

I think I'd look for a 1-pc rear seal 350 to start with..just about any '87-9?(someone will fill it in).

If you're looking specifically for a 4bolt block, I've no clue.

If I was you look for a 87+ block. They use roller lifters not hydraulic. They're only 2bolt though, if ya wanna go 4 your gonna have to look for an older 350 and retro-fit it to roller camshaft($$$). As for the intake that depends on what year you got, 85-86 or 87-93 and if your gonna go aftermarket on the heads or stay stock.

i think my question is this:

i know that 350's came in caprices, malibus, and trucks but they were TBI. if i get ahold of one of these cheaper, and i put my TPI setup on it , will it be the same as an L98?

Try to find one from a truck. My 87truck block was ready for the roller cam,has 4 bolt mains, and has the stronger X rods.

Look for a Vortec Truck Block, It should be a 4 bolt main block.

I imagine some of the TBI truck's were 4 bolts as Well.

Why Do you need a 4 Bolt ? For a Street Motor a 2 bolt should be Plenty sufficent.

i dont know why, but for some reason i thought the L98's had 4 bolt mains. so a 350 TBI block with TPI on it would be the same as an L98 or at least close. cool. thanx. its a street/strip motor. i like to do a little street racing and every now and then take it to the 1320. i need to keep some mileage though so it wont be too drastic. just looking for mid to late 13's. any ideas on a cam?

I like the LT4 HOT in a Roller Motor

match that up to some nice heads, and your Low 13's to high 12's an still totally streetable.
