Best cam to get for my 85 tpi
I have a 1985 Iroc with the 305 TPI that has 215 horsepower and 275 pounds of torque, Well i want more power, so what is the best cam that i can get that will increase both horsepower and torque. And with a new cam will i need to change anything with the computer.
P.S If you need to know i have a 700r4 with 3:23 gears
THANKS

The 85 already has a good cam, so you're not going to find great gains from a cam swap. I'd consider headers and exhaust instead.
The 85 ECM is also a piece of crap, so if you plan on significant mods, I'd consider upgrading to a newer style MAF or speed density system.

Mike Davis has a pile of information on his site (I don't have a link to it here at work, but if you search for his name, you'll find everything you need), including pin-outs for both computers, etc. Rather than repin my harness, I decided to just swap to a newer harness. Other than the different distributer plugs and an extra fan plug, an 86-87 Camaro harness should drop right in, as will the 86-89 computer. If you're planning big mods, you'll probably want to go right to a speed density setup, which will require additional modification to the harness since the 88+ harnesses had a pile of non engine related stuff incorporated. I decided to stay with MAF for now, because I suspect it will be more forgiving with my novice PROM burning skills. Once I get comfortable around this, I'll probably switch to SD.
