Hey

I would go with some K&N filters, that should help, and u could also get a flowmaster muffler.

Why would he get a flowmaster muffler when he already has random tech? You could ice your plenum and keep the car cool until you run, raise your fuel pressure and timing, and run without air filters. You have headers, right?

In your sig, it's thousanths, not thousands.

Run with no air filters. I run a faster time with no air filters... but that was before I did the ram air mod. I won't take the air filters out with that.

Port out the manifold and get some SLP siamezed runners and port match the plenum to it....... that only should give you mid to low 13's if you do a good job on the base....

First, what is your sixty foot time? If you're not putting the power to the ground, then you aren't taking full advantage of your ride. Things to cure this would be:

BF Goodrich Drag Radials $300
Lower Control Arms (Spohn)- $150
Subframe Connectors (again Spohn) $155

You can easily pick up to .2-.5 tenths on the launch with the proper set-up. If you are ai 2.00 or above, you have launch issues.

Free mods:
Timing at 8*-10* (Depending on altitude)
port out the plenum EGR humps
Remove MAF screens and heat sink
Siamese the intake base down about 3 1/2 inches into the runner (this will raise your powerband)

Also, you need to get some better gears, BAD! I run 3.73's and love 'em but some fellow third genners prefer the 3.42's.

just brainstorming....

JD

i agree, it would be nice to know your r/t and 60'

but, besides traction which seems to be the biggest thing........since you want to go with a "free" mod.

what gear are you going through, in otherwords if it's a manual are you holding it to the highest rpms and if it's a manual are you going through drive or just leaving it in overdrive.

i picked up almost 3 mph leaving the car in drive.

I don't have traction problems, the car never skips a beat , i ran 6 14.1's and then my last run was the 14.025. The tires are great and they never even let loose. My 60ft times are 2.035 with a reaction time of .551 So when i go to the track on friday run it with no airfilters, also can i route my belt without using the A/C or the airpump. Or will all my rubber and plastic hoses melt because of not running the airpump. All i need to do is get a groved pulley for the tensioner because i already have a belt that works perfect. And yes its auto , but i shift it manually at 5500-6000 and go through the line in drive.

For sure a K&N and cut the bottoms off the air boxes below the filters (maybe 5hp). It's a risk running without air filters.

Install a 160 deg stat and open the connector in your A/C pressure line to bring on the fans at the strip. If running stock stat this is worth about 10hp. Run the heater (not A/C) till you prestage to assure lowest temp. Later you can add a 160 deg fan sw.

Cut back the spark plug ground electrodes for a 8-10hp gain. Use a stock gap, if you had a HyperTech coil/cap/rotor I'd say open up to .045".

That should be enough to see you into the 13s even if the weather isn't ideal (running in 80deg vs 50deg costs about 10hp as does a 1. baro drop).

If you still have the jack and spare, leave em home for .050 sec gain (80lbs=10hp). Launch with 1/4-1/3 tank of fuel (gasoline~6lb/gal).

You're so close it's attention to the little things that will get you there.
