350 or 400
I am about to start on rebuilding a small block for my 86 Iroc.
I already have a 350 that came out of a 89 Roc, I also have a chance to buy a complete 400 for just over $400. Which one should I build up. Should I stroke the motor? Also I'm not really on a tight budget I am planning to spend about $5k. Thanks for the help, my goal is around 450-475hp.

ID go with the 400....... either way better get use to the $400 www.fastchip.com prom, or getting GOOD at burning your own.

Transmission: 700R4 rebuilt w/TCI kit
Axle/Gears: 9" from 57 ranchero unsure gears.
if your planning to spend up to 5K on the motor I found this web site posted in the montecarloss.com site read the article, the power band is excelent and should be right in line with a TPI manifold or maybe just right with some porting this is a 400+ hp and TQ motor for 3G's this ought to be my next project! yeah right not till after school! but it will be cool as hell
