Tranny people, youre help is needed within please...
OK to make a long story short Ive been having a problem with the car bogging shortly after it goes into 3rd gear. Ive added some more performance parts and no reduction in ET and I trap at a pathetic 94 MPH even tho Im running 13.521 as my best ET. If you want to hear what Im talking about heres a video clip from inside and listen as it hits 3rd you'll distinctly hear what Im talking about here the clip...13.6 vs 10.6.
Today I was messing with a few things seeing what the problem could be. I bypassed the MSD and still the same thing. On a scan tool its not showing any KR when I leave it set to base timing (8 degrees got me 2 degrees of KR). It has been suggested that maybe my converter (SLP 2k stall lock up) is locking up and today I was out and about and noticed under full throttle 1st and 2nd rip thru the RPMS like it should, goes into 3rd nice and then at 4k RPMS it actually drops back down to 3750 RPMS and LABORS to go anywhere after this point. Those of you who understand trannies cause I certainly dont, do you think its the tranny locking up and causing the car to die from that point on to the end of the track and causing my problems or could something be malfunctioning?? Is there a safe way to keep the tranny from locking up?? I had a harness I bought a long time ago that plugs into the tranny and into the tranny wire harness that prevents the tranny from locking up but anytime I had it on I thought I smelled a burning smell so I took it off. ANy help you could provide would be appreciated, Im heading to the track this coming Sat for SLP Day and would love to get over the 94MPH trap speed I ALWAYS hit spinning or dead hooking and hopefully under my best ET to date. Sorry for the long post but Im hoping someone here might have an answer for me, thanks ahead of time!!

Try disconnecting the plug at the transmission, and make sure it is out of the way of the exhaust.
Go for a test pass & see what happens? If that solves the problem, then try the harness you have that has the delay and see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestions Ill try them out and get back to you. Will unplugging that connector hurt anything if its unplugged long term, if its only gas mileage Im not worried about that.
On a side note, I dont trust the guy who did the rebuild on this tranny either, I had 30 days down time on and off and it was a planetary gear or something that was cracked, believe me next time Im in the market for a trans youll be hearing from me directly...

Actualy you will fry your tranny if you leave it unplugged for too long. Especially since you have a converter.
OD and high stalls don't go together. Torque converters are very inefficient below and around their stall point, and having OD keeps your cruise RPMs right in that sweet spot where it'll just want to rev to stall and heat up the fluid.

So what am I to do about the bogging and dropping of RPMs in when drive kicks in?? I think Im gonna fire up the camcorder and show you exactly whats going on so you see what I see. I dont want to do anything to cause an early demise to the tranny but Id like for it to pull thru the gears like it does thru 1st and 2nd, why does it only do this in 3rd?? And do you think it could be anything else that makes it do this only in 3rd, like ignition or fuel related( under WOT it does hold 48 PSI which is what my stock regulator tested at and I confirmed this and PSI under WOT via hand held gauge taped to the window).
