Are these required for a speedo gear swap?

Since I have a factory 2.73 gear set, I should have a 17 tooth drive gear(red) and 37 tooth driven gear(red), speedo gears. I am installing 3.23 gears and just planned on changing the driven gear to a 44 tooth driven gear. (Dark Gray). Correct me if I am wrong, but that sounds right? Anyway, do I need the sleeve that is shown in the FAQ, along with the part numbers. Thanks!

I'd recommend a shorter sig as well, lol.

But besides that, i'm personally going to run a 42 tooth driven gear for my 3.23 swap. Was going to use a 43, but after a half hour on the phone with the dealer yesterday i gave up that he was finding one for the electric speedo. Thus the 42 it is, because i'd rather the speedo read a couple high on the highway then a hair low. Helps with keeping me out of trouble

And no, the electric speedos don't use a sleeve. At least mine doesn't. I pulled my VSS the other day to verify what i had, and the drven gear is just a gear w/ a 3/4 moon hole in it to drive teh VSS.
