filling clutch cylinders
filling clutch cylinders
Hey guys. I recently swapped my ruined 700R4 out for a T5 in my '89 305 firebird. Everything has been bolted in place and the major compenents appear to work, however I have two quick questions. The clutch setup I received came empty of fluid, and I bolted the master cylinder onto the pedal, and the slave cylinder to the clutch release fork, but I'm not sure how ot fill the thing. I tried filling the cute little resevoir but then when I pump my clutch pedal it sucks in a tiny little bubble every time I pump my clutch and it doesn't actually produce much resistance or move the clutch fork. So i am wondering how I fill this assembly, or what I am missing?
My other question refers to the fact that not having an auto, my car is no longer in park. How do I convince the starter to actually stat my car? I know somewhere there is a wire that went to my gear selector, do I find this and ground it, or set it to positive to make it work?
Thanks for any help

To persuade the starter to work, you can either leave the gear selector switch in and set to park, put in a clutch safety switch, or hot wire it. When I did my swap the wiring for the clutch safety switch was already there so I just picked one up for like $8. To rig it to start, find the large yellow and large purple wires that went to the shifter switch and connect them. This will allow the starter to engauge at any time, and might cause you problems with the tech inspectors at the track.
