I would like to rebuild my trans this summer and would like your advice on which rebuild kit to get the Heavy Duty, Street Strip, or the Road Racing. I want hard shifts at WOT, but smoother shifts at part throttle. Also I want it to last. I don't race much, but I do drive it hard ALL the time. I also would like your recommendation on a torque converter. Do I really need a vigilante, or could I get by with a cheaper alternative. I'm really tight on the budget since i'm on a fixed income otherwise i'd just get one of your transmissions! Like I mentioned I don't race it at the track, I just enjoy playin in my baby. Its a TH700R4 behind a 5.7L TPI pushin 2:72 gears in an 89 IROC Z28

Thanx in advance for any insight you might offer.

I would use the A.C.T. 9.5" lockup torque converter, it sells for $565.00. The stall sounds like it should be around 2,400 rpm with these rear end gears. If you drive it hard all of the time then the Street/Strip or Road/Race unit would be best for you. Let me know?
