what are the signs of a bad or worn pilot bushing?

if its a bushing, replace it. if its a bearing, replace it.
no matter what, when ever you drop your tranny and/or service
your clutch your best bet is to not take chances, replace it. and your other best bet is to replace it with a pilot bearing instead of a bushing. its stronger lasts longer and, if u did it right, when your down shifting and u hear a whining,u can rule out the the pilot BEARING. trust me,u dont want to take everthing back down again to change a stupid little $15 bearing, (that could also destroy your tranny if not good), that you cold have done in the first place. it takes about 5 mins.
