Quick Question about Speedo Gears
Quick Question about Speedo Accuracy
Swapping an LT-1, T56, and 3.73 posi in for my LO3, 700R4 and 2.73 open. Retaining computer, wiring, and sensors from 4th Gen donor car. I have a 90 Camaro, so it has an electronic speedo. Does it matter if it's OBDI or OBDII as far as VSS issues? And can I reprogram the 4th Gen computer using a Hypertech Power Programmer to reflect the change in gearing from either the 3.23s or 3.42s that were originally in the donor car? If I can indeed reprogram the computer, will I need to even worry about speedo gears? Sorry if this is confusing or just plain stupid, but I'd appreciate any input.

You can use the HPP to reprogram the 94 computer so that it functions normally with the different gearing (althoiugh this shouldn't matter much with stick). However, you will have to use a signal converter box to hook up the T56 VSS to your 90s speedometer. The 4th gens used a different VSS than us so you have to change the frequency of the signal for it to work right. http://www.dakotadigital.com/ makes such a box
