i just installed some speedogears and i installed the clip that holds the gear on the shaft in the rear hole. everything was fine until i hit second gear. then i heard a metal sound. but everything else was fine. speedo read right now. then on the freeway i floored it and my speedo increased a bit then it just went to zero. and i now have a check engine light. do i need to put the clip in the first hole. i believe i have this light cuz my speedo is not working now. am i right?

 

Yup, you have a code 24...vehicle speed sensor. Most likely something happened with your speedo drive gear as you suspect.

You installed the metal clip correct. The drive gear might have cracked when you put it on there and then decided to let go as you were driving.

 

i had some instructions and it said ot put it in the front hole.
