Why didn't Chevy make standard IrocZ's? Well the truth is that they actually did. They just never came with 350's at the time. They came with the Tpi 305 which I hear can be a lot of fun to drive. Standard 5 speed IrocZ's are out there, you just gotta look. Go to the main page of Thirdgen.org and on the left hand sand check out the Tech Data link. It'll show all the options that came along the 3rd gen F-Bodys.

Yeah, the T-5 couldn't handle the power of a 350 that's why they didn't use them.

Correction: Yeah, the T-5 couldn't handle the power of a 350 that's why they didn't use them much.

GM thought that the T5 couldnt handle the torque output of the 350. Always worrying about losing $$ on warranties.

Correction: They didn't use them with a 350 AT ALL. Only time you'll see a 350 and a 5 speed is from a swap. Like mine...

No they did have an option that no one really new about, not sure what it was called, but they did throw in a 350 with the t-5. I think they have like a hundred of them or so.

WC T5 (best of them) is rated at measly 285 Ft/Lbs.
Even a stock 350 puts out more.
I broke two with a stock 305.You could always drive like an old lady, but what fun is that?

WRONG!!

no dude, you are way wrong and mislead....there is NO evidence that a 5 spd 350 was ever made in the 3rd gen....those 50 test models....if they even existED, they don't now and were most likly scrapped...
