Where is the plug, do I need a new gasket, and what fluid do I use?

Buy a Chilton or Haynes manual, since you don't already have one. They'll tell you everything you need to know. It's very simple.

Yes, you'll need a gasket. Depending if it's posi or not will tell you which fluid to buy. The guys at Autozone will know. And I don't think the 9 bolt has a drain plug because the 10 bolt doesn't.

You'll have to remove the cover to drain the fluid, then scoop out from the bottom. If you can't find a gasket, I have them available at www.9bolt.com
