Wrong style, Wrong type, Wrong size, Wrong length. You might as well be asking if a ford 9" axle will work.

The only factory axle that will fit in a third gen diff is one from another third gen diff. Although axles may look the same there are too many differences. Length, spline count, bearing surface size, flange size, bolt pattern.

It could be made to fit but it would probably be more trouble than its worth. A pickup has rear leaf springs, whereas aour cars have rear coil springs, which require spring perches to be welded to the axle tubes. Our cars also require brackets welded to the tubes for the shocks to mount to, as well as one for the panhard rod. On top of all this, the axle would most likeley be nowhere near the correcr length (wheel to wheel) and the axle tubes would have to be cut down to the correct lenth and aftermarket shorter axles would have to be installed. another reason aftermarket axles would be needed is because 3/4 ton trucks have 8-bolt wheels, and a thirdgen with 8 lug truck wheels would just look plain retarded.

For a stringer rear axle, there are companies who sell direct bolt in 9" axles which have all the proper spring moutns, shock mounts, etc welded to them. They usually run about $2000, though.

He never mentioned anything about using the complete differencial. He asked about using the axle.

If the proper terminology isn't used for parts then you're going to get wrong answers about what you want.
