tranny cooler line size?

I'm having a bitch of a time getting the two tranny cooler line fittings off, on the tranny end. Are they 1/2" or 3/8"? Or are they metric? I am using a 1/2" standard wrench and it is just not happening. I can't get a good angle to put torque on to the wrench, the underside of the car gets in the way. The tranny is lowered a little bit too. What am I doing wrong?

I worked on mine last night, and the fittings were 13mm on the tranny end and the radiator end.
