When the 700R4 was first put into production it had one valve body. Later ('87?), GM decided to change some of the programming and added an additional valve body. Hence, an auxillary valve body.
The aux VB is smaller than the main VB. There should be pic's on the transonline site. Dropping the pan and looking is the best way to tell if it is present.
