Overdrive Problem
I have an automatic V6 1988 Camaro and I’m having a little problem. I just had a tune up and an entire lube job and my car is still acting up. When I accelerate I can fell the car going through the gears up until I reach about sixty. When I reach sixty the RPM's drop down to 1500 even with my foot to the floor. I try taking my foot of the gas and stomping on it with no luck. I tried pumping the gas with no luck. I find myself having to put a pint of trans fluid in every week. I can't find a leak, so i don't know where the trans fluid is going. Even when the tran is full of fluid it still doesn't work. I was told it might be a cracked flexplate, and someone told me to adjust my TV cable. Does anyone have any idea how to correct this problem.

It could be that your shifter cable not adjusted correctly. Your tranny might think that you are in Drive even though your shifter is in the Overdrive position.
OR, there could be something wrong inside. I just figured my "advice" would be better than nothing.

Let me get this straight: At heavy throttle in OD the engine will drop to 1500 RPM, right? How in the world would a Flex Plate cause that? Anyway, check your Fuel Pressure, especially when the problem is occuring.
