The trans in my 87 5.7 IROC shifts very poorly. The 1-2 shift is a little slow and slips some, but the 2-3 shift really sucks. At part throttle, the engine will gain about 200rpm when it starts to shift, and the shift takes about 2 seconds, and full throttle, its worse if anything. Anyone know if there is something I should check/change? Or is it time to rebuild it. If I need to rebuild it, where is there any good info on it?? Ive done a few glides for drag racing, and also a few th350's, so Im a little familiar with the insides, but I've heard alot of horror stories about 700's. Also, which pieces need upgraded for performance, and who's kit is the best?? Not looking for a full race type trans, just a good, firm shifting 12 sec type trans. My wife is giving me hell, as the 700 in her 89 S-10 blazer will chirp the tires, but my IROC shifts softer than hell. T.I.A.
