how to set up clutch 4 muncie
you need the bell for the muncie which needs a mechanical clutch. i don't know of any conversion part to make it work in a thirdgen. if you have a muncie sell it and put the money toward a t56 or tremac
i want to use a t56 but my engine is going to be more than it can handle. You talking about the tremac 6 speed right ? its tq rating is 400 lbs of tq correct for the tremac. My engine is going to be running about 550hp and 150 shot of nos will a t56 hold?
if you're making that much hp or torque why would you want a manual trans unless you went to a lenco. i'd be looking at a th400, th350 racing trans and if you have a light car i'd get a glide with a brake

I did this same swap when I first put my 400 in. I used a Lakewood blowshield from my old 68 Camaro and used all the mechanical clutch linkage from an 82-83 Camaro/Firebird. Be aware though that the bellcrank ratio is wrong if you plan on power shifting. You'll need to length the pedal side of the bellcrank to increase the ratio. If you don't the trans will get hung in 2nd when you go to power shift into 3rd. The shifter will also interfere with the front of the torque arm. Shorten the arm a couple inches and fabricate a mount off the trans tunnel floor. The shifter rods will need to be lengthened about 3" to set the shifter in the console openning. Use a set of shock extensions as these are the right thread and length to do the job. Naturally the shifter mount will need to be moved back the same 3". Once I got the bugs worked out mine was really fun to drive.

the t56 will hold up easily, 700hp venom vipers use it, the twin turbo lingelfelter corvette uses it, twin turbo 4th gen camaros.
Why monkey with a 30 year old muncie, unless its a m22, which i doubt, its not that special.
