Tranny Help

Im caught between a rock and a hard spot. I have a 84 700r4 tranny which we know had all sort of problem, so now im in a spot on whether to buy the latest 700r4 that Dana at Probuilt or rebuilt the one I have. I took it to a builder and was not happy with his knowledge or suggestion on not installing the Transgo Reprogram kit. He just wants to put the Transgo (NoNoSyskokal 700-D) and do a rebuild. Would you recommend that I just buy a trans from pro-build or have this 27 Spline rebuilt which will cost about $600.00.
Thanks for your input

From your posts, you are looking for a street driven tranny that is hot off the lights....I say install both kits...find another builder...ask him wich hardparts he is replacing and why.....I think for your purpose the tranny you have would be ok.....but then again why spend $600 on a converter, that you cant use if you decide to upgrade later....I'm running the same tranny as you, but only till it breaks or I get my 400-th400 combo complete.
Buy Dana's tranny and you will be set for future upgrades...like Heads..
