Changing from B&M to Transgo Kit

I put a B&M shift kit in my 700r4 about 25,000 miles ago, and since then I have started to develop some slippage when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. It has sort of a thud to it, if you know what i mean. From what I've read on this board, the Transgo kit is suppose to have provisions that fix this and other problems, and is the better one to install...wish i had known this sooner. My question is, can i take out the B&M kit, and put in a transgo, or is it too late for that? Or should i skip it and put a Pro-Built in?? By the way, my car just turned 100,000. Any info from you tranny guys would be great..

Was the trans working ok before the shift kit was installed? I know that if the trans is a little tired or marginal in shifting from an age and mileage standpoint a shift kit will sometimes hasten its demise. Does the trans have 100k on it? It could be time to have it gone through and then have the Transgo kit installed when you have it apart. 700R4s can be a real pain when they get a lot of miles on them. Is the TV cable adjusted correctly? That cable is judge, jury and executioner on these trans. Just my 2 cents worth.

Yes, the tranny does have 100k on it also, and it seemed to shift pretty good for awhile after the shift kit install. The TV cable poses an interesting question though. Almost every time that i really get on it, the TV cable loses its setting and has to be reajusted. I really dont think that has much to do with it, just wonder why it comes loose. I'm thinking I would probably get a Pro-Built before I would have it rebuilt around here. Thanks for your input, and any more is appreciated.

As far as the Transgo kit replacing the B&M, it will. I would reccomend getting another valve body spacer plate because B&M has you drill some holes larger than Transgo.

With a 100K & a slipping 2-3 shift..... It's time for a rebuild. What kind of driving do you do? Street/Strip, Road racing, etc. What's been done to the motor? What rear end gear ratio do you have? What is the duration of the cam at .050 lift?, I need to know these things, when building a performance unit & torque converter to fit your particular application. Let me know?

After thinking it over, I'm probably just gonna get the Pro-Built and call it good. Whens the best time to get ahold of you and give you the lowdown on my car?? Let me know and i'll try and set something up.. Thanks for the help guys.
