Did the 89 turbo t/a have a dana 44 rear?

Car: 86 sports coupe-83 berlinetta
Engine: 5.0 in the sports coupe-350 in the berlinetta
Transmission: 700r4 in the sports coupe-turbo-350 with a 2500 stal in the berlinetta
Did the 89 turbo t/a have a dana 44 rear?
What gear ratio did they have?

I think they all had 9 bolts. Only the Firehawks had the Dana 44's. Not much strength difference between the 9 bolt and Dana 44 anyways though.

My car ( Non factory ) has a G.M. performance parts dana 44 the same one SLP used in the Firehawks.
To quote Jeff Smith "The word is that this rearend is stronger than a dana 44." The word is Wrong........
The Dana has a 8.5 ring gear a bigger solid mounted pinion, bigger diff all 13 plus styles, bigger 30 spline axles, bigger axle tubes, bigger 1350 rockwell yoke.
That's the reason G.M. sold the rearend in the Performance Parts catalog and not the production 9 bolt.
All the parts are still in stock at G.M. the housing is the only thing out of production.
