Hit the Tranny bad

Actually this didn't happen to me but to my cousin. Heres the "story" He was driving his 85 z28 a little over 100mph on the freeway, he hit a dip pretty bad and scrapped the pavement with the bottom of the camaro. Anyways after hitting the bump he got off the free way and alot of smoke was coming out from the tranny area. he continued to drive it home (less then 3 minutes) and the engine reved real high and the car barely moved. a huge lake of transmission fluid was in his driveway. the next day he replaced the transmission gasket (without glue, with cork gasket) and refilled the tranny. the tranny was shifting o.k. now, but their is a leak that he can't see coming i guess from the top of the tranny are their other gaskets or something that could of broke? thanks guys he wants to know what it might be hopefully the tranny is still good.

No, good luck finding the problem.
Forums like this are intended for usual problems, it's anybodies guess as to what can happen to cause a trans leak under these circumstances. Maybe a cracked trans cooler line, cracked case. Hole in the pan.
