Im going to be changeing the fluid in my tranny it was rebuilt about 30,000 miles ago and is starting to leak and the fluid is getting thin. Ive never done this before what is the procedure to do it. Also what kind of fluid should i use last time i had my trany changed a week later it went and i herd it can happen from changeing the fluid. I was thinking on using valvoline max life in it is that good. I know ther emotor oil works great.

Auto or manual? The manual is much easier to service.
The type of fluid depends on the model year, the newer ones all use ATF, whiel some of the older T-5's use gear oil.

Just drop the pan and let the oil puke out all over the place, yank straight down on the filter.... Make sure the o-ring on the filter neck comes out of the bore (if not pick it out)...
Wipe out the pan/magnet good, check the bolt holes in the pan, if they feel 'raised' use a ball peen hammer to knock them down. Install a new gasket, don't overtighten the pan bolts........ and I'd recommend plain old Mobile Dexron III.
All you need is a 13mm socket, a ratchet and an extension. Some v6's the x-member might get in the way of the back pan bolts so a wrench might be needed.
