Give credit where its due!

I would like to thank Dana for the great transmission. I recently bought a street/strip setup from Pro Built.

Got the unit on Tuesday and installed it on Wenesday inmy vette. What a difference. Shifts are absolutely firm. And the car really pulls in third now.

I haven't really laid into it. I don't know if there is a break in period or not. Perhaps you can speak up Dana if you read this.

Few things I really noticed with the new tranny.

1. It feels like it shift during 3rd gear when the TC locks up at 46 MPH. It took me a while to realize what was happening. But that is definately what it is. Guess my other tranny was too loose to feel it grab. Is that what the problem was or something else hiding the lockup?

2. During more aggressive driving before on my old tranny, the RPMs never dropped below 4100 RPMs. At the track before the tranny finally gave up the goat. I would get up to 86 MPH at the 1/8 mile and only go through the traps at 103-106 MPH. It is very evident now that 3rd must have been slipping quite a bit, resulting in lower MPHs.
Now with the new tranny the RPMs drop down to ~3300-3500 on the 3rd shift. You can really feel the car start pulling hard in 3rd.

3. Everything is very positive too.

Thanks again Dana. I will surely resommend you to anyone looking for a good tranny.

What are your predictions for the ET drop in the 1/4?

I will let you all know. I am estimating ~.4-.5 ET drop. This would put me at ~12.2-12.3 sec @ 112-114 MPH.

Can't wait to really see how it does.

Also I should mention that the takeouts are much more fun now. I can easily light them up. Before the car wouldn't even do a burnout, well it kinda did, but nothing impressive. Yet it still pulled 1.7 60'. I would guess that not the car will be in the 1.6s.

Let here your comments. I'm curious.

Thanks again.

Sounds like you got a good tranny now.

Anyway, the reason I replied was because that saying about dying in your sleep like your grandfather. I forget who it was that said it but my grandmother thought it was quite funny because she thought it described my grandfather(He's not dead, but him falling asleep at the wheel and scaring everyone I think may have happened before).

that was off topic or anything, but yoAnyway, not that u should post some results when you get to the track.
