shift kit... now won't shift

I finished putting everyhting back together last night, rolled the car out of the garage and then put some fluid in started it up, and when I went to run through the gears to fill the valve body up, the tranny wouldn't engage any gear no matter where I put the lever.... I am sure the linkage is ok, because I reached under and tried to do it by hand. Could I have put the manual gear selector valve back in turned 180 degrees by accident?? I don't know anything else thaqt could have done it. I had zero extra parts, and had no troube during re-assemb;ly except with the servo, but I got it back on fine in the end.... any ideas? thanks again :hail: :hail:

Re-check your fluid level. After you've had the valve body open you lost more fluid than just what's in the pan...you fill the pan, start it up, and it sucks the level way down refilling all the passages.

I usually fill the the full level on the dipstick, start it in neutral and let it idle while I re-check and adjust the fluid level until it stabilizes.

fluid level is fine, so looks like it is time to drop the pan again

I am not positive about this...but I just bought a B&M shift kit for my 700r4..and it gives you the option of a stage 1 or stage 2. No matter what stage you opt for, i think you SHOULD still have SOME parts remaining. Not positive, i will go get the instructions and double check as soon as i get a chance.

Not to make you feel or look stupid, but you did put the filter back in, right? Hey, it happens, just throwing it out there.

What kit did you install? Did you mess w/ the regulator valve or boost valves? If so, Its possible that you didn't get the snap-ring seated all the way and it popped out the first time pressure got on it.
