Changing fluid

I'll be changing fluid, filter and gasket this weekend. Anything I should look out for? Special tips? Silicone the gasket or no? Should there be a magnet in the pan? Thanks

Check out this page http://www.amsoil.com/faqs/faq8.htm.

You should have a donut magnet in the pan. If so, take it out while the pan is off, wipe it clean, put it back in the pan.

Don't use any sealant on the gasket.

You didn't ask, but I prefer the Hastings or Puralator filter/gaskets to Fram.
