Drive gear in 86 700r4?

I ordered a 41 tooth driven gear for the speedo cable in my 86 Sport Coupe. It was a 2.73 rear gear but I've put in 3.42s now.

I'm assuming that my tranny's drive gear is a 15 tooth unit. I haven't looked at it and my mechanic didn't verify what it was.

Does 15 tooth sound right?

If it were 2.73's, then it is not the 15 tooth drive gear.

For 2.73's you should have had a 17. Check your mail.

According the Apeiron's gear program I need a 46 or 47 tooth driven gear to go with my size tires and 17 tooth drive gear. Since GM doesn't make anything larger than a 45 tooth driven gear, that's what I'll have to use.
