anyone with BBC in front of a 7.5" 3.73 ?

anyone with BBC in front of a 7.5" 3.73 ?

anyone here daring enough to have a healthy 454 or similar toruqe rated engine in front of a stock pre-87 700r4 and a stock open 7.5" 3,.73 axle ?

i have acess to 454 engine and tranny(probably th400), and am contemplating taking the '84 Z28 to a new level that it may not be able to ever return from..
wonder how long tranny and axle and driveshaft would last ?
if i did then i would not be wanting to spend much on the swap, just do what is needed to make it sit in car, and modify rad support as needed to allow a full width three core radiator to sit on it.,.. im tired of the 305 and i wanna have some fun, the car is no shgow car by any means, just another common everyday Van Nuys dark gold t tops L69 MD8 GT4 Z28.... hood is already removed as of tonight since I was tuning, and inspecting everything under there i attempt to find any extra performance out of the engine,, the 305 just isnt fast enough anymore, am too used to it now,.. so.,,,, hmmm.... if i had some 350 heads around i would put in the 350 engine that i have here, but i cant find any heads cept for ESC 1.84 ones...... so...

at last in this case id now have a correct engine for the 82 T/A to replace the blown up one in it so it could then be driven,, hmm....... and is a nice good 'ol less of a pain in the **** hardtop to boot !

Fast 68 you know as well as anyone that it's gonna take some coin to swap all this stuff over, this is'nt your typical motor swap, and it can be done as I helped drop a 454 LS7 when they first came out in a cherry 2.8 base camero-tight, but it fit. As for the rear, that will last forever if it's a one legger, hell you'll be lucky to get the car rollin without going up in smoke, but if for some act of *** that thing ever hooked with that rear-it'll surely EXPLODE!!! Hell, pull the heads off your 305, slap em on the 350 and roll, till you can afford somethin better.

LOL, i knew i was gonna have response similar to that coming to me, hehehehe :P

thought about running the 350 with the 305 heads on it, but are three things i dont like:
1. jumping compression ratio up on stock mileage engine cant be good for the rod bearings that previously only saw 8.5 compression ratio,
would have to have crank turned and then could put on new bearings for insurance.

2. the 14011416 heads have crap smogger 1.84 intake valves.
3. intake runners need volume enlargement help.,

but at least having 1.94 valves installed and crank turned and cost of new bearings wouldnt be as much as 454 freshen up and install, and also the 305 heads would allow correct exhaust useage. so hmm....

maybe sell the 454 and use some of the $ from that to put into the 350 and stil make out with a correct and stock bolt in engine for the '82 T/A....

if i blow something up, then well i'll have to park it til can fix it, thats just how it works, hehehe

hmmmm,,,, im asking for trouble, lol.,
