I just had my tranny rebuilt in March of 2002.

700r4, 2200 stall, supposed shift kit....

Tonight for the first time ever, I heard some clashing noises coming from my car.

Under normal acceleration and applying the pedal minimal to moderately, I have no problem. I hear no noises.

If the car is in park and I gun the engine, no noises.

If I shift manually, and let the RPM's wind to about 4000 in each gear with 25% pedal application, np. 4000 is revving a bit in my car.

If I apply the gas pedal 50% all the way to flooring it at any speed, I hear a loud metallic gnashing type noise. Lasts about 2 seconds, then goes away.

For the last two months, under acceleration, I have felt some vibration in the pedal and well as near the shifter by the console.

Could it be something is loose underneath causing that noise? The noise really only appears in the conditions listed above. I dont race my car, romping on the gas has happened 3-4 times since I have owned it. I have smoked the tires once.

It is my only car, I am not rich, and I cannot afford for something to break, it is my daily driver. So I dont beat the **** out of this car.

Any suggestions or ideas as to what the noise is would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
