will a 9 bolt rear end bolt on to replace a 10 bolt

first, read my sig to know what we are dealing with.....

My 10 bolt failed again. this is the third time. There is a 9-bolt BW disk out of an 89 rs 305. It has 3.45 gears with the bw posi, or what ever factory posi came in the 9 bolt. it is only $250. It does not have the rotors or the calipers, but it does have the axles.

And now the questions:

Will my rotors and rear calipers fit the 9 bolt? The axels are probably 28 spline and I have 26 spline, if that maters.

will my drive shaft bolt right up or do I need different u joints/shorter drive shaft etc.?

Do I need different brake lines or a different proportioning valve or anything else?

do the coil springs go in the same place?

Basically what needs to be done to put this complete rear into my trans am.

Is this a good price for the rear? (I cracked it open and checked the gears, they look perfect. It has all of the tags, the slip tag and the ratio tag. It had fresh oil too, no water.)

Sorry that I am asking so much guys.

BTW Wow the BW posi is a strange beast. Very different looking than my guv loc.

Stop with the TTT. If someone doesn't know or want to answer you don't need to keep moving it up. Someone who hasn't read messages in a while will still see it as a new message since they last logged in.

Yes the housing and everything attached to it will bolt up. The only thing different between the 10 bolt and the 9 bolt is all internal.

Sorry stephen, I just needed a quick answer. Thank you for telling me though.

Is there any bad outcome to using a 9 bolt.

Since I already have the drive shaft off, I am thinking of replacing the U joints. What brand are the best to get? Or, does it even matter what brand?

Spicer is the brand name. Are you sure this rear end is the 3.45 posi? I thought they were only available in 305 TPI 5 speed cars which leaves out an RS unless it was swaped in. I know mine came from a 87 with 3.45 gears, but it was a 305 TPI 5 speed. If it is ****** it up 250 is a great deal if it is in working order.
