take out the axles on a 9-bolt

How do I remove the disc brake axle out of a 9-bolt. I am used to the 10-bolts where I remove the center pin. How does it work on the bw 9-bolt axles. I know there are no c-clips, so what is there.

Its easier than you would imagine. Just jack the car up and take the wheel off. Take off caliper and rotor. Take off the four nuts behind the hub. Now just slide the axle out. It might be a little tight coming out. I put the rotor back on the studs backwards with just two lugnuts finger tight. This gives you a handle to yank on. You don't have to open up the differential at all.

First they are held on by the backing plates so rmove those first. And then I just tapped mine with a brass hammer until they came out. You are right there are no C-Clips.
