9 Bolt Questions

I have been looking for information about the strength of the Australian 9 Bolt 7.75" rear end. I've been to www.9bolt.com and only found one article and it said the 9 Bolt is supposed to be a bit stronger than a Dana 44 which I know is used on a lot of trucks and so on. Will it withstand a 500 ft. lb torque build up or would I need to go with a 9" Ford of GM 12 Bolt to handle that power?

well that 7.75" is a bit risky I would and am going to go with a ford 9" pro stockers use them so I would amagen 500 ponies would be fine BUT you would need to tear that rear end apart
and re build it to handle 500 ponies or have some one else do it for you but any way there are places that build 9" rear ends to bolt into place on a 3rd gen camaro, you can even get them alredy set up for disk breaks

I've been running 520lbft through my 9 bolt for 4+ years now with no problems (1.72-1.75 60fts).

I have some more articles but have not had time to post them, although the one that is posted sums it all up . Check back in a few weeks.
