T-5 LO3 behind a 350?
Could a stock LO3 T5 hold the power increase? What is the max HP and TQ it is good for? I want to do a motor upgrade once I have the money and I would love to keep my tranny. Do I have to have it rebuilt it and make it stronger? The motor I plan on putting in may end up with about 350-400HP and wind up to around 6000 RPM.

Mine lasted until I started running 12's on ET Streets, then it broke 3rd gear. If you want to make that much power, plan on upgrading to a T56.
Synthetic oil and don't power shift and traction, shockloading it all that kills T5. Just be nice and only dog her when you need to. Get a new clutch so you have to baby her for 500 - 100 miles and you may learn to save it.

It'll break, not right away, but be certain, it will. I broke 3rd gear. It actually broke under NA power but I am sure I kinda hurt it going 115 in the 1/4. Good luck
