figure out how you're going to do the clutch before you go too far. differance between t5 and t10 is like nite and day. t 10s lot stronger.

richmond says the T-10 is bulletproof if this is true there is no comparison between the T10 and T-5 as far as strength I have a T-10 and love it

Yea the reason Richmond says that is because it's true. A T-10 will handle Big Blocks like nothing, a friend of mine had on with 1138 h.p. going through it in his drag car running 9's (1968 Camaro). No Problems, but he sold it after about 10 runs (enough $ you know anything is for sale)
Definatly bulletproof T-10.
Later, Garrett

What all would be needed to convert from a T5 to a T10? Also, where can T10's be found for a reasonable price?

The T10's from the '82 year is plenty strong for whatever you may throw at it..I can attest to this after beating the s**t out of mine for 6 years now.AVOID the saginaws from the same year..those things are below T5 strength. The difference in the clutch is a T10 as in my z uses mechanical clutch linkage whereas the newer f bodies(84 and up) used hydraulic clutche linkages. It will be an involved swap if you are serious about it.
