i recently bought a used posi for my car and i have two questions.
1) the posi is for a 26 spline axle. is there any way to tell how many splines mine has before i pull them out?
2) how do i know weither or not it is for the 3.23 and up carriers or 3.08 and down. I heard it was both and i want to know for which one it is before i take my axle apart.

28 spline was all gm used after 90, i've seen 89s go either way. depending on what year you have it's 26 for sure, 28 for sure, or it could be either and you'd have to pull the axles and count. the thickness of the ring gear mounting flange is the differance in carriers. look at the one in your car for referance since you know it's ratio, or can figure it out easy while you're looking at the flange.
