9 bolt B/W rear whining

Was wondering what was up with the whining from i think the rear end. Its had this ever sense i got the car except it seems to be getting worse. It doesnt do it under acceleration but when i let my foot off the gas it starts to whine like a s.o.b. i replaced the u-joints the other day n that didnt help. Its got a 3:27 borg warner in it. Prevois owner said he had the whole rear swapped and it still does it. Would appreciate any input, its starting to get pretty anoying.

Whinning during decel is usually bad pinion bearings or improper (not enough) preload on the pinion bearings. More info on 9 bolt diffs is at www.9bolt.com
