stupid question that has probably been asked before but i could not find the answer
Which six speed are people using to put in our cars. i would really like to get one, possibly one from a corvette. something that could handle 450-500 flywheel hp. i saw one in jegs for $3000 but i would really like to find something cheaper.

I believe most people are using a T-56 from the fourthgen LT1 f-bodies. Check ebay and your local boneyard for pricing. New ones cost quite a bit, but the new one from Borg Warner comes with a crossmember to mount it. Do a few searches on T-56. I'm sure you'll find loads of information.

Thank you so much for the information, i thought that the t-56 was the six speed tranny but i wasn't sure.
