Repairing the valve body

Well during the Transgo install I had to drill through the valve body 3 times and now that the kit has made my trans very unfriendly to drive and certainly unsellable I need to return it to stock.
What can I use, if anything to plug the holes in the valve body? Water jacket filler? weld?

Or do I have to get a new one?

Chris

I've never used a kit that required drilling , but I would probably
drill and tap the holes for Allen set screws and apply a little
Locktite so they won't come loose. Or screw in a brass machine
screw and cut the head off with a chisel. The end justifies the
means.

Drilling the holes will not make the transmission "undrivable". Either you drillied through in the wrong spots, or you did something else wrong in the kit. I have done tons of these Trans Go installs, and never experienced your concern.

In what way is it undrivable?

Well Undrivable may be a little harsh of a term to use. Lets say it makes the car far less fun to drive. EX:

1) The car will not start in 1st gear with more than 1/4 throttle applied and it will not downshift into 1st gear.

2) The car will not shift from 2nd to third gear at WOT untill about 5200 RPM

3) The car will not downshift from 4th to 3rd at WOT

So while the car is not undrivable. It takes forever to get up to speed, and certainly cant take it to the track.

OH and when I try to shift it manually from 1st to 2nd it takes about 2.75-3 seconds before 2nd gear will fully engage.

Have you gone back through and double checked everything that you did?
If properly installed, the TransGo kit will not cause these problems, so it would have to be something that you did, since it apparently didn't do this before the install.
Did you identify whether or not you have the 1st design or second design valvebody and follow ONLY the steps for that valvebody? Not trying to knock your ability, just trying to throw some ideas out there.

When I first noticed the problem I doubted myself as well. But I have gone through the entire process 3 times and checking everything. Every valve, every spring, every hole, every checkball I have uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times now. I have called transgo, the first time they said it was the valve on the right side of the valve body which was the 3-2 control valve, took it apart, spent an hour making sure it all worked fine, put it back together, works the same. Called again, said it must be a lack of fluid pressure, the filter may be clogged. OK, so I buy a new GM filter ($40) still the same problem. OK, now transgo says oh, the trans must have been rebuilt at sometime and had a spring put into it that prevents the pressure from increasing so I have to tear apart the trans to replace a spring in the stator pump .
Seems like they're grasping for straws now.

So, since the trans was working fine, and that I have gone through it so much and that transgo is unable to give me any further advice. I have to believe that the directions were wrong or that 1 or more parts furnished were defective.

If you have any ideas to what may be causing the problems, I am more than happy to listen.
