people with SGI-5 calibration boxes..

Did anyone else have a problem with wiring the +12 up to a switched voltage source? I have mine wired into one of the power window switches (bad idea by the way).. and EVERY time i start my car.. it gets all wacko and the speedo will jump up to 140 when im going like 10 MPH.. and the ONLY way to fix this.. Is to take the ground wire off, reset all the switches back to default (1-3 off 4-10 on) and reconnect the ground wire and but the switches back to the right calibration setting.. I have to do this EVERY time I turn the car off. but last night i wired the +12 into the cig lighter.. and it works fine now when i turn it off and back on... what is the cause of this?

Well, sure sounds like you have it all figured out to me. Must have been a problem with that power source. FYI, I have mine tapped into the Accessory power as well.

The first time you give me a ride in your car I am going to push the cigarette lighter and watch the speedo go crazy.
You can find places on the fuse box that lets you plug in wires and some of them are only on when the key is on.

No worries, I have used the lighter and it did not disturb the Speedo.
