Transgo shiftkit question

Will adding a Transgo shift kit make a noticeable improvement in acceleration. I have never had a shift kit before and wondered if it's worth the trouble and expense. Also, how much would it cost to install you think. Thanks

Not normally unless you had really long upshifts. Now combine it with properly calibrated shift timing and shift length and you are onto something. Along with the correct converter for your current application (not a wish list or something you read somewhere) and your car will really come alive.

The only reason I noticed a considerable amount of improvement in accelaration is because my last tranny was done, but as far as making it more fun to drive.....hell yes.

It will definitely clean up your stock shifts and vastly improve the downshift of the car...................as far as making it faster depending on yoru original setup u might see a small gain only from the decreased shift time......................

the trans go is the way to go if your doing anything at all to the tranny, hands down :-)

as far as installation goes around here by the shops that do real trannies (like stuff behind high 7 sec GN) he charges around 300-350 trans go shift kit installed... so figure 300 or so
later

$300

My guy only charged $120 and that's with a vette servo included.

Yeah, $300 is a little too steep for me. I am primarily concerned with acceleration performance. I have a 305 TPI and I'm always looking for something to make the car perform better. I'm not really interested in spending that much money if its not going to make that much difference in acceleration but just shift harder. Would getting lower gears be a better investment? Thanks

The torque converter (A.C.T. or Vigilante) will give you the biggest gain overall (3-5 tenths in the quarter mile), gears will not do this. Along with the TC I would add the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit, Corvette servo, and the large boost valves. Together this will give you the best all around performance. I carry all of this, so if you have any questions concerning these products, call me.
