what is the point of the tranny tail counterweight ?
whats is the reasoning behind tranny tail counter weight ?
and how much would rear axle hopusing spin if the torque arm was not connected ?
any special reason why GM didnt use UCA's in rear and used the torque arm instead ?
thanks

no idea it always seemed pretty worthless and useless to me, but i'm sure there's a good reason for it
way too much, you'd be breaking drive line parts, not have any traction
space, cheaper, easier and i don't think UCAs would locate the rear like the torque arm does, if they were of the same design, or similar design

I beleive that counterwait was a vibration dampner used on V6 cars. I have not seen them on V8 cars, but that doesn't mean they don't exist...
Leave the Torque Arm connected, bad things could happen...
As for not using UCA's, I think it has to do w/ the fact that the F-body is a unibody, and packaging problems would exist trying to not only fit UCA's under there, but to re-inforce the body as well.
