U Joints???

U Joints???

When I step on the brakes in my car, it makes a clinking noise like a loud at that too...now how would I know if my u-joints were bad??? AARON

jack the car up and spin the drive shaft by hand back and forth to see if you feel any play i nthe joint. another method is to pull the trunion caps and look at the bearings.

Axle/Gears: 10bolt Richmond 3.73 Torsen
Look at your front brakes first. If it's a loud clunk it could just be one of the caliper bolts is loose and/or missing. This happens a lot if they are used and haven't been torqued to spec.
Then check out the driveshaft like ede said.
