I have a stupid question, but would gears from a 99 Astro Van (7 5/8" 3.42 on open dif) fit a 91 Camaro rear (7.5 or 7 5/8"? 2.73 open)? Thanks!

What exactly do you plan on doing? The carrier and gears, or just the gears?

So I got a 7 5/8" rear? I always get confused whetehr its a 7.5 or 7.875
Anyways, its for my brother, just doing a lil checking first... Probably would swap carriers b/c I the 3.42's are prolly 3 series (could be 2 series, but I doubt it)... to bad its an open he's sellin with it... Thanks for the info

just to make things simple gm decided to call it a 7.5 or a 7.62 at differant times. same rear. i've measured a few gears and i can't find anything that's 7.5 or 7.62, close but not close enough.
