i have been looking for a t-56 to swap in my 85. a guy on another web site that said he has one, but its out of a 99 LS1 camaro. and he said it wont work on my engine at all, he says it is LS1 specific. just wondering if this is right or not.

 

He's right, it won't work. It has to be a 93-97 or aftermarket T-56 to bolt up and I think the input shafts are different for the LS1 boxes.
