what caused this??

what caused this??

Last time at the track,about 10` off the starting line,BANG.(Banged so hard my airbag flew out)Push it off the track,discover the front u-joint in pieces,the tailshaft housing snapped off and the bellhousing broke completely in two. As a result,the weight of the trans bent the input shaft and damaged the pump.My trans guy says an upward motion caused it to break in this fashion.If that`s the case I think I would see the crossmember bent upwards too,but its not.I can understand the tailshaft housing breaking due to the u-joint but not the case.Anyway,it`s fixed,and now has an Ultrabell from JW.Any thoughts as to what happened? All bolts were tight and the case wasn`t cracked before
